Psi chapter was founded on April 11, 1999 at the University of Delaware. Sigma Phi Delta Fraternity is an organization founded upon brotherhood and professionalism which seeks to aid in the betterment of the
individual and the community in one simultaneous effort. As engineering students, it is understood that we will be the leaders of tomorrow in not only the singular fields of science, technology, and engineering, but in business, philanthropy, our own communities, and the grand field referred to as life.
Sigma Phi Delta is a professional and social fraternity dedicated to promoting engineering and leadership in the community. It is a great opportunity to take a leadership role and provide guidance to those in your community as a volunteer. Being the leaders of tomorrow, we realize that it is important to give back to the community. Sigma Phi Delta does its part to sponsor many philanthropic and community service events as well as the College of Engineering's E-Week.
As a brother of Sigma Phi Delta, one can expect to take part in many activities. Every fall semester, we show our support for the Fightin' Blue Hen football team by holding tailgates at home games. Sigma Phi Delta also hosts formals, date parties, and barbeques throughout the year. Every semester, Brothers take part in intramural sports and other events such as paintball. We take trips into Philadelphia for cheesesteaks, baseball, and hockey games. Last semester we took a tour of America's Oldest Brewery, the Yuengling Brewery in Pottsville, PA.
