The Sigma Phi Delta Fraternity Book Scholarship is designed for one upcoming male freshman-engineering student entering the University of Delaware in the Fall of 2011. Sigma Phi Delta is the premier international engineering fraternity founded on principles focusing on the good of the engineering profession. Knowing that textbooks, especially those required by the College of Engineering, can be costly, this book scholarship is presented in the amount of $300.00.

In order to be eligible you must be a current University of Delaware student enrolled in the College of Engineering and you must provide an essay answering the question, "Why did I decide to be an engineer?" The essay should be 500 words or less and be submitted no later than 9/20/2011. Please include your name, major and how you would like to be contacted (email, cellphone, etc.). Applicants are encouraged to attend any and/or all rush events (attendance is not a required condition for earning the scholarship).
